In this episode we’re talking about taking in information about other people and how we either jump to conclusions without enough evidence to judge harshly or to believe quickly.  Some of the things on here are difficult to hear – because it involves a documentary about pedophiles.

I talk about my own Lupus diagnosis in this and some of the struggles I’ve had with this disease to show that there is not always PROOF when someone suffers from an ailment or illness and there is a lot of misinformation out there.   I actually do have blood work results that people without Lupus would not have. But there are other ways to ask questions of someone or to THINK about someone before jumping to a FALSE conclusion. I use my own life as an EXAMPLE to show how you should be thinking about things – how to think CRITICALLY about things that you’re not sure of.  If people close to me had taken the time to THINK if I would put myself through hospitalizations and transfusions and surgeries for something I didn’t have – they would go DUH.

The reason I go through this is because of how difficult it can to not only have this illness, but then to be doubted is just unacceptable.  There are facts to look at if you think someone is or is not telling the truth.  People are sometimes too quick to judge and other times to quick to rule out that someone could have done something wrong (pedophiles).

Using the Shanann Watts victim blaming, my own experience as someone who suffers from Lupus, and a documentary about pedophiles, this episode talks about how we can do better in these areas and become SHARPER – to not be fooled but to not judge harshly either – it talks about communication and observation.
